Myoflorae

Myoflorae is the artistic branch of my practice. I raise livestock rabbits and also use their bones and fur. Sometimes, this is called "oddity" work, though I think there's nothing more natural than curiosity about the mechanics of life and death.

Each piece strives for appreciation of the life from which it came and the life it sustained. This work also aims to reflect the interconnections of our anatomies and the world around us.

Ew... Bones?

Bones aren't for everyone. I respect discomfort or ethical differences. At the same time, if you haven't considered why bones seem off-putting, I invite you to look closer.

These aren't industrial by-products. They aren't plastic.

I reuse the ammonia and hydrogen peroxide for cleaning and whitening, and I make sure to dispose of it properly when necessary. No part of our rabbits is "trashed." Any part that we cannot use is composted.
